ISO 45001

Fine-Kinney Method

One of the most important methods used for risk analysis of Occupational Health and Safety. 3 factors are used when calculating risk in this method, which are: Probability, Frequency and Impact/Damage. If the resulting value of risk is less than 20, it is considered as tolerable risk, if the value is more than 400, it is considered as a risk, for which the works must be discontinued and urgent actions must be planned.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

What is PPE? Personal protective equipment are the equipment that protect the staff on worksite from any undesired event/work accident and have been debited to the relevant person. Periodical Medical Inspection

Employees pass through routine medical inspections in certain periods, depending on the hazard class of workplace. These periods are as follows: At least once in every 5 years in workplaces considered to have low danger level, at least once in every 3 years in workplaces considered to be within dangerous class, and at least once in a year in workplaces considered to be within highly dangerous class. Periodical medical inspections are recorded in accordance with Annex2 format as determined by the Ministry of Health. Work Permit Management

Third persons might be required to enter the worksite for different reasons. These are the staff of subcontractors/contractors that work or provide service for the contractor companies. However several procedural permits must have been obtained in order for contractor staff to enter and to work at the site. Work Permit Management is a process, through which stages, such as training, SSI Statement, Risk Assessment, etc., which must be controlled to allow the contractor staff to work at the site, are managed.

Ambient Measurements

The Law No. 6331 on Occupational Health and Safety requires employers to perform controls, measurements, examinations and investigations to determine OHS risks in the work environment and for the employees. Furthermore, enterprises do continuously monitor certain parameters to determine the impact of production processes on nature and society. Some of these measurements are Ambient Noise Measurement, Personal Noise Measurement, Body Vibration Measurement, Ambient Dust Measurement, Greenhouse Gas Emission Measurement, etc.

Incident Management

It is possible to encounter with undesired situations in an enterprise. The probability of occurrence of these situations is handled in risk assessments and necessary actions are planned. However, despite of all precautions, if these situations occur, this means that the risk has occurred and an INCIDENT happens. Incidents are generally divided into 2 groups, namely Work Accidents and Near Misses. Work accidents are the incidents that impact the work and cause death, injury or loss of working time. Near Miss is the incident that has not caused any damage despite of its potential to damage the employee, equipment or working environment. In each case, handling and assessment of the incidents, root cause analyses and planning of necessary actions are irrevocably important.
